Entrance
After secure parking in your own space, you enter the accommodation through your own entrance. The porch was built recently but received local press coverage for its adherance to old construction methods. Note the green oak pegged beams, wattle and daub infil, and limewashed mortar.
Sitting Room
When the property was purchased the sitting room was still set up as its former function as a kitchen for the pub. The beams were all covered with boards and the room somewhat derelict.
Now restored to its former glory, the sitting room's history can be seen through the jumble of exposed beams spanning many periods, the limewashed plaster, and the leaded glass window set in an oak frame.
This room serves as the dining and seating area with space for addditional sleeping should it be required. The log burner set into a period fireplace adds to the comfort and romance on cooler nights.
Kitchen

As you drop down the few stairs to the kitchen, you actually enter a more recent addition to the building, albeit incorporating recycled materials from the pub. A fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, cooker, washing machine, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge/freezer allow you to cook meals from the simplest to the most complex on your budget and time.
Bathroom
As would be expected, the bathroom has not been restored to its medieval roots! This modern bathroom features underfloor heating, an enclosed power shower, mirror and toilet.
Bedroom

When the property was purchased this room was derelict, the vaulted ceiling closed in, and was in generally poor repair. Now it's a magnificent room with a vaulted ceiling, double bed, full-length mirror, and hanging space. The stairs to this room are steep and unsuitable for young children or those less physically able. Of course the pull-out sofa in the sitting room can be used if the stairs are a problem.
